Mohammed Shael Al Saadi serves as the CEO of The Dubai
Corporation for Consumer Protection & Fair Trade under Dubai
Economy & Tourism. The duties listed as follows are just a few of his
many responsibilities. Monitoring and enforcing business compliance
to pertinent laws and regulations across economic sectors of Dubai.
Ensure that Dubai’s consumer and business complaints are resolved.
Enable firms to safeguard their intellectual property rights against
potential infringements, support business resolution for the regulatory
bottlenecks that investors/firms must overcome, address concerns of
fair market competition and protect the interests of consumers, help
enhance government laws and regulations and shape the future of
enforcement by enabling business friendly environment.
Mr. Mohammed is a member of several influential local / federal
public policy making bodies, such as; The Ministerial Committees for
consumer protection, fair market competition, intellectual property
rights, additionally he is spearheading Dubai eCommerce Sector
Development Committee.
Mr. Mohammed has years of Executive Boards experience serving
on many Governmental & NGO boards such as Dubai Virtual Assets
Authority, Dubai Data Committee and Dubai Design District. He is
also an Academia board member of the University of Dubai, RIT
University, and Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University etc.
Prior to this, he played a significant leadership role in advancing
Dubai's economy and public sector. He was CEO - Corporate
Strategic Affairs Sector at Dubai Economy, during which he enabled
various strategic collaboration amongst the Business, Regulatory &
Academic communities. He pioneered the "Future Economy
Agenda “in Dubai and is passionate about the Digital Economy,
Sharing Economy & Circular Economy. In his other previous roles, he
served as the CEO of Business Registration & Licensing in DED, where
he is credited with developing a suite of smart services to enhance
the ease of starting & doing business which contributed to the overall
improvement of UAE’s ranking in the Global Ease of Doing Business
Index. He was also appointed as Vice President CSR & Planning at
Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA).
