Amazon Launches the Agentic AI Era for E-Commerce Sellers

Amazon is bringing agentic AI to e-commerce sellers with new tools designed to automate inventory management, pricing, product listings, sales performance, and account health while keeping sellers in control.

Amazon

Amazon has introduced new agentic AI features that enable third-party sellers to further automate their e-commerce operations. Announced at the Amazon Accelerate event, the new features allow retail operations such as inventory management, price tracking, product listings, sales performance, and account health to be managed through artificial intelligence.

Amazon Seller Assistant Offers AI Workflows That Run 24/7

The revamped Seller Assistant uses artificial intelligence workflows that run continuously based on instructions set by the seller. The system can track stock levels, monitor changes in competitors’ prices, alert sellers when product ratings decline, and monitor developments related to account health. In this way, certain e-commerce processes that previously required regular monitoring by sellers are becoming automated.

Store Management Through Claude and Amazon Quick

Thanks to the new Selling Partner plugin, sellers can connect to their selling accounts through Anthropic’s Claude model or Amazon Quick. Following the connection, which is said to take approximately 60 seconds to set up, the artificial intelligence can access product catalogs, inventory information, sales analytics, and performance metrics. Sellers can perform tasks such as changing prices, updating product information, and checking stock status directly through the AI assistant.

Mary Beth Westmoreland, Amazon’s Vice President of Worldwide Selling Partner Experience, stated that the company’s vision is to enable sellers to manage their businesses without having to log in to Seller Central.

Artificial Intelligence Learns the Seller’s Business Model

Seller Assistant can develop business-specific recommendations by using data related to sellers’ pricing habits and inventory cycles. While the system provides recommendations on pricing, promotions, and inventory management, the new canvas feature also makes it possible to compare different pricing strategies and examine the performance of advertising campaigns.

Control Will Remain With Sellers

Amazon announced that sellers will retain control when using the new artificial intelligence tools. Users will be able to determine which data the plugin can access and approve actions to be carried out on their accounts. The plugin was initially launched in beta for sellers in the U.S. and is planned to expand to international markets in the coming weeks. The company also aims to introduce new integrations with different AI assistants in the future.
