Putin Admits Russia Failed to Anticipate Attacks on E-Commerce Warehouses

Speaking via video link at the Business Russia Forum, Putin said Ukraine's targeting of warehouses belonging to major e-commerce companies in Russia had come as a surprise to Moscow. The Russian leader stated that authorities should have considered the possibility of Ukraine carrying out such operations but had not expected such actions.

The targets included logistics facilities operated by Wildberries and Ozon, two of Russia's leading online retail platforms. However, no official figures have been released regarding the financial losses caused by the attacks, disruptions to warehouse operations, or delays in e-commerce deliveries.

Russia Retaliates Against Attacks on Energy Infrastructure and Data Centers

Putin stated that Russia was responding to attacks carried out by Ukraine with retaliatory strikes. The Russian leader claimed that Ukraine, with support from Western countries, was attempting to prevent Moscow's counterattacks. He also noted that energy facilities and data centers were among the targets of attacks by both sides.

Ukrainian Strikes Target Logistics Hubs and Oil Refineries

Ukraine's long-range operations have targeted logistics hubs, supply chain facilities, and energy infrastructure supporting Russia's military activities. These operations were reportedly carried out in response to Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure.

The targeting of warehousing infrastructure serving the e-commerce and retail sectors in Ukrainian operations indicates that commercial logistics facilities have also become targets in the conflict. However, the sources contain no verified information indicating that artificial intelligence systems were used in the attacks.
