Doğan Cem

Doğan Cem is the founder of Doğan Cem Academy, based in Kadıköy, Istanbul. He is an opera singer, vocal coach, and voice trainer. With a countertenor and sopranist vocal range, he is known for combining academic classical music training with modern vocal techniques.

Born in 1997 and originally from Kastamonu, he spent his childhood and early years in Zonguldak. He began his formal music education in the Opera Department of Bülent Ecevit University State Conservatory, later transferring to the Opera Department of Istanbul University State Conservatory, which he entered as the top-ranked student in 2017. He graduated in 2022 after studying with prominent figures in opera and Baroque music, including Lynn Trepel Çağlar, Prof. Leyla Pınar Tansever, and Kaan Buldular.

Early in his career, he appeared on television in the singing competition “O Ses Türkiye” (The Voice Turkey). He has also received multiple awards at the Istanbul Baroque Arias Vocal Competition, including honorable mention, third place, and first place.

Through the Doğan Cem Academy, which he founded in Kadıköy, he provides professional and amateur students with training in vocal technique, breathing, solfeggio, and voice anatomy. The academy also offers lessons in instruments such as piano and violin.

He also leads the “Doğan Cem Duet Stage” project, designed to help students gain stage experience, and continues to collaborate with educational institutions on musical projects, workshops, and corporate events.
