Emre Ekmekçi is a highly accomplished internet and e-commerce executive, sought after for his expertise in scaling businesses and driving strategic growth. With a career spanning executive roles and prestigious board positions, he brings deep insight into marketplace management, digital transformation, and international expansion.

Currently, Emre serves as a Nonexecutive Director at Migros, a Board Member at Easypoint, a logistics e-commerce player, and a Nonexecutive Director at Digital Area in Georgia, a subsidiary of Bank of Georgia focused on e-commerce and digital trade. He is also a Global Advisory Committee Member at Mirakl, the leading marketplace software company, and Vice President of the Turkish E-Commerce Association, further underscoring his industry leadership.

At Hepsiburada, Emre led international growth as President of International Expansion, helping Turkey’s largest multi-category e-commerce platform achieve regional success. His experience extends across the C-suite, including as Group Chief Commercial Officer and as President of Business Development at Doğan Online Group, where he managed leading brands like HepsiBurada.com, Nesine.com, and Evmanya.com.

An early innovator in e-commerce, Emre co-founded CityDeal in Turkey and Romania with Rocket Internet, playing a key role in its successful acquisition by Groupon. Under his leadership, the region became one of Groupon’s most innovative and high-performing markets.

With global expertise in digital strategy and interactive marketing, Emre has spent 8 years working in major business hubs such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Hong Kong, Shanghai, London, and Paris, focusing on global business development.

Emre holds an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California.
