Amazon Now has surpassed $1 billion in annualized gross sales in India, calculated based on its sales pace over the last three months. Amazon India announced that orders have doubled every quarter since the service was launched and that the platform has become the fastest-growing e-commerce business unit in the company’s history in India.

Amazon Now Reaches More Than 60 Cities and Towns

Amazon expanded the service’s coverage fourfold in less than 10 weeks, bringing it to more than 60 cities and towns. Padubidri, Tirupati, Guntur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Vellore, Dharwad, Warangal, and Berhampur are among the locations where the service is available.

Amazon India Country Manager Samir Kumar stated that Amazon Now orders have doubled every quarter, adding that they are pleased with customer interest and plan to reach 100 cities by the Diwali period. The company’s longer-term goal is to expand its minutes-delivery network to more than 300 cities.

More Than 750 Centers Support the Rapid Delivery Network

The rapid delivery operation is carried out through a network consisting of more than 750 micro-fulfillment and urban fulfillment centers. Amazon Now sellers offer a wide range of products, from grocery items, including fruits and vegetables and frozen products, to personal care, fashion, beauty, small home appliances, and home and kitchen products. Amazon also states that it can deliver tens of thousands of products within minutes or a few hours, more than 1 million products on the same day, and more than 4 million products the next day.

Artificial Intelligence Is Used in E-Commerce and Retail Operations

Amazon states that it supports the expansion of the Amazon Now infrastructure with advanced technology, AI-powered inventory planning, and demand forecasting systems. By positioning products closer to customers through urban fulfillment centers, the company aims to deliver a wider product selection within a short period of time.

According to Infisum data, India’s e-commerce market is expected to grow from $125 billion in 2024 to $345 billion by 2030, driven by the growth of quick commerce and the integration of artificial intelligence. The research forecasts a compound annual growth rate of 18.4 percent for the market through 2030.

Quick Commerce Competition Is Expanding in India

Platforms such as Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and Flipkart Minutes also operate in India’s quick commerce market. Amazon Now’s expansion in the number of cities it serves and its local fulfillment infrastructure continues as part of Amazon’s plans to expand its e-commerce and retail delivery network in the country.
