Özkan Özen

My name is Özkan ÖZEN. I am 27 years old and single. My childhood was spent working in agriculture and livestock activities. I graduated from high school as an electrical and electronics technician. I studied Physics at Çukurova University. During this education, I completed an internship in the solid-state physics laboratory and had the opportunity to give lectures and seminars in the fields of classical physics and the history of science. Afterwards, I transferred to the Molecular Biology and Genetics Department at Cumhuriyet University, which I am graduating from this month. Throughout my education, I had the opportunity to learn various computational software and to use computers extensively; during this period I also developed mobile applications and website designs. My academic years were spent working in various jobs and sectors, which gave me the opportunity to engage with very different profiles of people and industries. While working across these diverse sectors, I realized that the common point among them was e-commerce and that there were serious deficiencies in e-commerce. In order to unite this fragmented e-commerce world on a single platform and enable shopkeepers—who are one of its most important components—to sell while protecting their profit margins, I decided to establish ‘Çarşı Online’ together with a friend who is a citizen of Azerbaijan.
