DeFacto to Acquire Women's Fashion Brands Manuka and Fresh Scrafs

DeFacto, one of Türkiye's leading fashion retail companies, is acquiring Manuka Tekstil and Fresh Scarf, two brands operating in the women's clothing and accessories sector. With the acquisition of the two brands, founded by sisters Sümeyye and Feride Kubur and operating a total of 36 stores, the company is expanding its activities in the women's clothing, shawl, and headscarf categories.

DeFacto Adds Fresh Scarf and Manuka to Its Portfolio

DeFacto, which operates 322 stores in Türkiye and more than 500 stores worldwide, is adding two brands to its portfolio as part of its acquisition initiative in the women's fashion sector. The company first reached an agreement with Fresh Scarf, with which it had jointly introduced a collection in recent months.

Based in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, the brand primarily operates in the headscarf and shawl categories. The company's second move under the acquisition initiative was Manuka Tekstil, which operates in the women's clothing, bags, and accessories categories. It is reported that, through the two transactions, sole control of both brands will be transferred to DeFacto. Financial details regarding the acquisitions have not been disclosed.

Brands Founded by the Kubur Sisters Reach 36 Stores

Sisters Sümeyye and Feride Kubur are the founders of Fresh Scarf and Manuka. The entrepreneurial sisters expanded their activities in fashion retail by establishing Fresh Scarf in 2016 and Manuka in 2019. Having grown through social media and digital channels, the two brands gradually expanded their presence in physical retail as well.

While Fresh Scarf focuses on headscarves and shawls, Manuka operates in the bags and accessories categories in addition to its women's clothing collections. Manuka has 20 stores in various cities, including Adana, Bursa, Ankara, and Gaziantep. Fresh Scarf, meanwhile, operates 16 stores. Thus, the combined number of physical stores operated by the two brands has reached 36.

The acquisition of the two brands also stands out in terms of integrating fashion brands that have grown through digital channels into a larger retail organization.

DeFacto's Global Retail Network Extends Across More Than 50 Countries

Founded in 2003 and having opened its first store in 2005, DeFacto currently operates in more than 50 countries. The company has stores in countries including Morocco, Romania, Russia, and Afghanistan.
