UAE E-Commerce Market Reaches $11.5 Billion

The UAE e-commerce market reached AED 42.2 billion ($11.5 billion) in 2025, as AI, digital payments, quick commerce and advanced logistics continue to reshape the country’s online retail ecosystem.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) e-commerce market continued its rapid growth over the past five years, reaching AED 42.2 billion ($11.5 billion) in 2025. According to the annual e-commerce report prepared by EZDubai Logistics Hub and Euromonitor International, the market recorded a compound annual growth rate of 19% from its AED 17.6 billion level in 2020 through 2025.

UAE E-Commerce Market Expected to Reach $18.3 Billion by 2030

According to the report, the UAE e-commerce sector is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of 9.9% between 2026 and 2030, reaching approximately AED 67.2 billion ($18.3 billion) by 2030. While the share of online sales in total retail sales rose to 15.7% in 2025, this figure is expected to exceed 20% by 2030.

Fashion and Footwear Rank First in Online Sales

Clothing and footwear became the largest category in the UAE e-commerce market in 2025, with a market volume of AED 11.4 billion. This category was followed by consumer electronics and home care products. Home appliances are also expected to record strong growth in the coming period, driven by high purchasing power, demand for premium products, and consumers regularly upgrading their products.

Artificial Intelligence and Personalization Stand Out in E-Commerce

The report highlighted artificial intelligence and data-driven personalization among the key trends expected to shape the future of the UAE e-commerce ecosystem. The expansion of quick commerce and last-mile delivery services, along with stronger integration between social media and online shopping, were also identified as notable trends in the sector.

The growing adoption of digital wallets, “buy now, pay later” solutions, and embedded finance applications were among the factors supporting faster and more flexible payment options in UAE e-commerce transactions. The report also stated that government-led digital transformation programs, advanced logistics infrastructure, strong connectivity, and investments in artificial intelligence and technology are supporting the sector’s growth.

MENASA E-Commerce Market Reaches $141.4 Billion

The growth of UAE e-commerce is progressing in parallel with the expansion of the broader MENASA region. The e-commerce market across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia increased from AED 232.1 billion in 2020 to AED 519.2 billion ($141.4 billion) in 2025. Driven by increased adoption of digital payments, expanding internet access, a growing consumer base, and logistics investments, the market is projected to reach approximately AED 909.3 billion ($247.6 billion) by 2030.

Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of EZDubai Logistics Hub, stated that the report’s findings demonstrate the strength and maturity of the UAE’s digital economy, adding that the country has built an advanced ecosystem supported by sophisticated digital and logistics infrastructure, government initiatives, and rapidly evolving payment solutions.
